As the country recognizes Black History Month in February, USC Athletics is celebrating and documenting its proud African-American heritage by adding more stories to its website, uscbhm.com, about iconic Trojans who serve as role models for the university and the African-American community.

In this chapter, Trojan Lynn Swann looks back at his history of leadership roles — from president of his eighth-grade class to USC football captain, four-time Super Bowl champion and now USC athletic director.
