The Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority (LAHSA) will release the results of its 2024 homeless count, the largest census of unsheltered persons in the United States, at 10:30 a.m. PDT today.

Ben Henwood, director of USC’s Center for Homelessness, Housing and Health Equity (H3E), has served as the methodological lead for the count since 2017 and is available to provide insights on:

  • Methodologies used in data collection
  • Key findings and trends observed

Last year’s count found more than 75,000 people experiencing homelessness in Los Angeles County and over 46,000 in the City of Los Angeles.

Henwood is a professor at the USC Suzanne Dworak-Peck School of Social Work, where H3E is based.
