KUSC Tops Public Radio Ratings in Los Angeles

Arbitron Ratings Place Classical KUSC-FM 91.5 First in the L.A. Metro Area for Public Radio Stations

May 02, 2008

Los Angeles — Arbitron’s rankings for winter of 2008 place Classical KUSC-FM 91.5 at the top of public radio stations in the Los Angeles metropolitan area, as announced by the Radio Research Consortium yesterday. For the last quarter, the station garnered 525,800 weekly listeners.

“It is so gratifying for KUSC to play a leadership role in keeping classical music available to all those who support it,” said KUSC President Brenda Barnes. “This ranking clearly reflects our listenership. I want to commend the staff for catching the ball mid-air last year when, due to local radio format changes, we became the flagship for classical music in the Los Angeles area. Through their professionalism and the faithfulness of our supporters and the University of Southern California, we will continue to embrace the challenges ahead.”
