Steering mountains of waste away from landfills is a momentous task, and USC’s green team is leading the way with another win.

The Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, operated by USC, has been recognized by Los Angeles County with a Green Leadership Award for being a zero waste facility. That means 90% of Coliseum waste is recycled, composted or repurposed — 780 tons since 2015.

The Coliseum also won the Pac-12 Conference Zero Waste Competition two years in a row.
