Did you know? USC and Maryland, classroom collaborators
The two Big Ten schools battle on the football field for the first time Saturday, but they are longtime academic partners.
Saturday’s matchup between the USC and the University of Maryland will be the first meeting between the Trojans and the Terrapins on the gridiron. However, the two schools are quite familiar with one another in the classroom.
One example: Last year, Gale M. Sinatra — professor at the USC Rossier School of Education and a USC Distinguished Professor — collaborated with University of Maryland Associate Professor Doug Lombardi and former USC doctoral candidate Imogen R. Herrick to publish a study on disinformation in scientific claims. The study was published in The Science Teacher, a peer-reviewed practitioner journal for secondary level and high school science teachers.
