From Mark and Marilou Hamill to quarterback Kedon Slovis, the message is clear: Getting vaccinated helps the whole Trojan Family — and a raffle offers new incentives, too.

Mark and Marilou Hamill took to social media for a simple mission: encourage as many people as possible within the USC community to get vaccinated against COVID-19.

The Hamills are part of a wave of USC alumni, supporters, students and faculty who are encouraging everyone in the Trojan Family to get their vaccination. Marilou Hamill said the two were excited when they received their vaccinations from Keck Medicine of USC because it meant they could finally see their children and friends.

“Let’s make USC the safest campus in the U.S.,” she said.

Others, like USC quarterback Kedon Slovis, encouraged others to get vaccinated “to protect ourselves and to return to a state of normalcy.”

Amber D. Miller, dean of USC Dornsife College of Letters, Arts and Sciences, reminisced about a recent mask-free dinner with friends.

“It was definitely worth getting vaccinated,” she said.

Will Ferrell had a special message for Trojans “so we can get back to normal and be at USC football games together en masse!”

All USC Trojans are encouraged to share their reasons why they got vaccinated and encourage others to learn more about the benefits of vaccination and facts versus myths.

To encourage students and employees to comply with USC’s vaccination policy, the university is hosting a raffle that offers everything from running out of the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum tunnel with the football team to bookstore discounts and shopping sprees, a professional photo shoot at the USC School of Cinematic Arts and employee transportation discounts.

Another incentive: a pair of free football tickets for faculty and staff members who have met the vaccine policy requirements (deadline is July 15, and supplies may be limited).

Faculty and staff are automatically enrolled in the raffle once they have submitted the appropriate documentation to the MySHR website.

USC policy strongly encourages all students, faculty and staff to get vaccinated. (Campus is defined as within USC’s Clery geography, including the University Park and Health Sciences campuses, USC Village, USC Housing, the Coliseum and other select university properties.)

Those who are unvaccinated and have met documentation requirements in MySHR will be required to adhere to COVID protocols, including weekly COVID testing (twice weekly for undergraduates) and mask-wearing indoors.
