The USC senior organized a group of student tutors who give the newcomers one-on-one help learning a new language

Sofia Deak saw a need: An influx of Syrian refugees, new to Southern California, needed help learning English. So Deak, a senior at the USC Dornsife College of Letters, Arts and Sciences, got to work, putting together a group of students to provide one-on-one tutoring to the newcomers.
