He is recognized nationally as a leader and a visionary with an extraordinary track record of helping universities achieve ambitious goals.”

Checcio comes to USC from Fordham University, where he was vice president of development and university relations. His previous experience encompasses the design and execution of fundraising campaigns at institutions such as American University in Washington, D.C.; Temple University in Philadelphia; the University of Pittsburgh; and Drexel University. He also served as vice president of development at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.

“It is an honor to become a member of the Trojan Family and to serve in this role at this exciting time in USC’s history,” Checcio said. “I look forward to working with President Nikias and the faculty, staff, students, alumni, parents and friends who have helped make USC such a great university. There is no question that USC is on the cusp of a new level of achievement, and I couldn’t be more excited about helping the university meet its boldest goals.”

Checcio will report directly to President Nikias and work closely with the provost, deans and academic leaders of the university to build plans and infrastructure in support of the university’s development ambitions.
