Gov. Schwarzenegger, the USC Schwarzenegger Institute and Public Policy Institute of California (PPIC) Water Policy Center to host “The New Reality: Addressing California’s Water Challenge,” an informative forum that will explore how California leaders, agencies and residents are coping with the current drought and planning to meet the challenge of water resources in the future. The forum will also examine the State Water Resource Control Board’s latest conservation mandates and the recent appellate court ruling on tiered pricing.

WHAT: The USC Schwarzenegger Institute and PPIC Water Policy Center will bring together leaders and experts from across California who are working to address the challenges presented by the current drought and the Governor’s emergency water measures.
The event will feature remarks from former Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger and an overview of California’s current water situation by Ellen Hanak, Center Director of PPIC Water Policy Center. The program will also include conversations about how California is meeting the challenges of the drought and what steps need to be taken to address a water-constrained future, including the State Water Resource Control Board’s revised conservation mandates. A diverse cross section of subject matter experts and key water resource stakeholders will participate in the conversations.
