MEDIA ADVISORY: Robotics Open House at USC on 4/14/16

Two-thousand visitors to participate in visits to private laboratories as part of National Robotics Month — approximately 60 robots on display

WHAT: The USC Viterbi School of Engineering, the USC Robotics and Autonomous Systems Center (RASC), USC Viterbi VAST Program and the USC Viterbi Department of Computer Science will be hosting their annual Robotics Open House on Thursday, April 14, 2016.

The public will:

  • Get a sneak peak at socially assistive robots that aid children and elderly
  • View humanoid robots, underwater robots, tactile sensing robots, and aerial drones
  • See biometric robots built to study neural prosthetics
  • Have the opportunity to learn about computer vision and AI, and interact with leading roboticists

The robots at the USC Viterbi labs (many of which will be demonstrated on 4/14) are listed here: http://rasc.usc.edu/robots.html

The media will also have the opportunity to interview top roboticists.

WHEN: Thursday, April 14, 2016, 9 a.m. — 4:30 p.m.

WHERE: All events will take place at various labs at USC’s University Park Campus; media registration is required.
