USC Annenberg launches new site powered by The Washington Post
The site serves as the primary publishing outlet for the schools student-led multimedia teams
The USC Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism has launched a new website created in partnership with The Washington Post.
Powered by the newspapers Arc custom publishing platform, USCAnnenbergMedia.com features digital content produced by the schools student-run multimedia news organization.
USCs innovative student newsroom demands flexible and nimble technology that can meet todays digital needs as well as adapt to changes in the future. Arc equips students with the same state-of-the-art technology used by Washington Post reporters and editors, giving them real-world experience in an intuitive, easy-to-use interface, said Shailesh Prakash, the papers chief technology officer. Our university partners are an important part of Arcs expanding client base, and we are pleased to work with USC as they develop journalisms next generation.
New digital home
USC Annenberg Media serves as the new digital home and primary publishing outlet for all of the schools student-led multimedia teams, integrating video, audio, digital and social media data.
The schools media teams work out of the Julie Chen/Leslie Moonves and CBS Media Center, where students produce daily and long-form content covering news, politics, diversity, sports and entertainment, among other topics.
The first iteration of the website launched on Jan. 21. Student teams will expand the variety of content and design new layouts to feature additional shows and projects that will go into production over the next few weeks.
The Washington Post partnership offered our faculty and students a one-of-a kind opportunity to collaborate on a new media platform with their world-class tech team, which is so clearly committed to empowering the next generation of journalists, said Willow Bay, director of the USC Annenberg School of Journalism.
USCAnnenbergMedia.com highlights the breadth of our coverage and the sophisticated multimedia content produced by our students. It will give a new audience a glimpse of the unique opportunities available to USC Annenberg students in our journalism, PR and communication programs, Bay said.
