The University of Southern California’s commencement ceremony will be held the morning of Friday, May 13, on the University Park Campus. Olympian Allyson Felix will deliver the commencement address. Ron Howard, Brian Grazer, Frank Price, David Bohnett and Bina Venkataraman will receive honorary degrees.
Media Access:
Space is limited. RSVP to USC Media Relations, uscnews@usc.edu, (213) 740-2215 to reserve a seat or a spot on the riser.
Media Check-In Time:
No later than 8:00 a.m. on Friday, May 13. All media will be asked to show credentials.
Please allow extra time for travel and parking.The event is attended by about 60,000, and there are lane restrictions along Figueroa Street.
Media Check-In Location:
South of Doheny Library at Childs Way, near the main stage. The ceremony is held at the center of campus in Alumni Park. Click here to view or print a commencement map.
Commencement activities may involve prolonged exposure to the sun. Sunscreen, water, and hats are recommended.
Event Start Time:
8:30 a.m. sharp (Media must be in place by 8 a.m. Late arrivals may not be admitted.)
Event end time: 10:15 a.m.
Parking for news vans
On-campus parking for broadcast vehicles is on West 34th Street. Use the McClintock Gate (McClintock Ave and West Jefferson Bl.) Once admitted by gate agent, left on West 34th Street.
Overflow parking may be available on West 37th Place between Watt Way and McClintock Avenue (Downey Way entrance, turn right at McClintock and left at West 37th).
A riser and multbox will be available. Once on the riser, media will be asked to remain in place until the event ends.
General media parking
Use Downey Way entrance (off Vermont Avenue at 36th Place). Show media credential for access to the Downey parking structure.
