April 11, 2012

Pasadena — The Keck Medical Center of the University of Southern California’s (USC) long tradition of medical care to residents of the San Gabriel Valley continues with the opening of an expanded medical office in spring 2012.

Keck Medical Center of USC Pasadena will be the home to more than 40 Keck Medical Center of USC faculty physicians, providing services in specialty areas including oncology, gynecological oncology, head and neck cancer, cardiovascular thoracic, dermatology, rheumatology, endocrinology, ophthalmology, neurosurgery, colorectal surgery, urology and vascular, general and plastic surgery, and some primary care services.

“We have a proud history of serving the San Gabriel Valley, and are delighted to introduce a new location that will be more convenient for our patients in the area,” said Scott Evans, COO and interim CEO of Keck Hospital of USC and USC Norris Cancer Hospital. “Several practices will be consolidated into this new location to provide outstanding care and an exceptional patient experience.”

The 22,000-square-foot medical office at the Huntington Pavilion, 625 S. Fair Oaks Ave., Suite 400, occupies the entire top floor of the four-story building.

“The Keck Medical Center of USC Pasadena adds to our city’s growing reputation as a premier destination for medical services and biomedical research,” said Bill Bogaard, mayor of the City of Pasadena. “Our citizens have relied on the expertise of USC faculty physicians for years. We appreciate this important expansion of USC’s world-class services.”

In addition to the new Pasadena space, Keck Medical Center of USC faculty physicians practice at other locations in La Canada Flintridge, Beverly Hills and Downtown Los Angeles, clinics at Healthcare Consultation Centers I and II on the USC Health Sciences Campus, and at USC-affiliated Children’s Hospital Los Angeles and Los Angeles County + USC Medical Center.

They also provide medical and surgical care at the USC-owned Keck Hospital of USC and USC Norris Cancer Hospital, both part of the Keck Medical Center of USC.  The Keck Medical Center of USC name was launched in 2011 thanks to a $150 million naming gift from the W. M. Keck Foundation provided to USC to accelerate groundbreaking medical, clinical and translational research and education.

“The generous gift from the W. M. Keck Foundation is paving the way for our skilled and innovative physicians to better serve the San Gabriel Valley, Foothill communities and all of Southern California,” said Tom Jackiewicz, senior vice president and chief executive officer of USC Health. “It’s gratifying to bring more people into the ‘Trojan Family’ through delivery of our top-notch health care services.”

The Keck Medical Center of USC includes more than 500 physicians and specialists who are full-time faculty members of the renowned Keck School of Medicine of USC. They are widely recognized as some of the best doctors in America, appearing on respected national and regional lists such as Best Doctors, Super Doctors, Top Doctors (Pasadena Magazine) and Top Doctors (U.S. News & World Report).
