USC partners with Goodwill to collect clothing in effort to help the homeless
Collection of gently used clothing and household items starts Tuesday and continues through May 11; see why Adoree Jackson is taking part
Wondering what to do with those clothes you hardly wear? Students packing up their things for summer have another option: the Spring Cleaning for Good drive, sponsored by USC Athletics Trojan Outreach program in partnership with Goodwill Southern California.
USC student-athletes will be collecting gently used clothing and household items for Goodwill, which helps eliminate homelessness by providing jobs to individuals with disabilities or other vocational challenges, including veterans, at-risk youth, ex-offenders and more.
During the kickoff event 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Tuesday in McCarthy Quad on the USC University Park Campus, the first 500 people bringing donations will receive a free lunch courtesy of Chick-fil-A. Trojan Outreach will provide tables and chairs so that patrons can enjoy their lunches while listening to a live broadcast of ESPNs Mason and Ireland radio show from noon to 3 p.m., featuring a number of Trojan student-athletes and coaches.
Following the kickoff event on Tuesday, the drive will continue May 3-11, with Goodwill bins all at locations around the University Park Campus.
