USC to celebrate the Class of 2020 with day of special online events Friday
Programming includes a virtual conferring of degrees, entertainment and perhaps a few surprises. The live event starts at 9 a.m.
USCs newest graduates dont yet know when theyll get to don their cap and gown and walk across the stage to receive their diploma. But they will have the full attention of the Trojan Family on Friday as the university celebrates with a day of online events dedicated to USCs Class of 2020.
A virtual conferring of degrees featuring President Carol L. Folt, Provost Charles Zukoski and Valedictorian Isabella Hauptman along with entertainment and other surprises will be broadcast live online beginning at 9 a.m. The presentation will be replayed at noon and 6 p.m., and available for on-demand viewing via YouTube.
Throughout the day, a variety of online programming celebrating this years graduates will be broadcast, along with individual celebrations by USCs schools.
Though we will have a commencement ceremony at a later time, we just cant let this important moment go unrecognized, Folt said. We have to celebrate the degrees these graduates earned. This is our virtual hug until we can give them a real one.
Full information about Fridays events can be found online.
The traditional commencement ceremony originally scheduled for Friday will be held on a date to be announced.
