Trojans hoop it up at wheelchair basketball tournament
The annual USC event gives students with disabilities an opportunity to compete in organized sports
The competitive Trojan spirit was on full display during the USC Wheelchair Basketball Tournament. In this video, tournament founder and USC senior Zack Wentz, who was paralyzed in a skiing-related accident at age 15, talks about his inspiration for creating the annual showdown.
Open to all students, the event on April 6-7 raised awareness of disability access on campus. It also gave students with physical disabilities a chance to revel in the excitement of athletic competition. The tournament is affiliated with Swim With Mike, USCs scholarship and support initiative for physically challenged athletes.
