Emotional moments as parents pen bittersweet letters to their Trojans

It’s a moment of pride and more than a few tears — and a tradition during Welcome Week at USC

The start of the school year can be a roller coaster of emotion for students — and sometimes for parents, too.

A favorite USC tradition is having parents write a letter to their Trojan; the letters are delivered during the second week of classes. The parents offer words of pride and encouragement — and the boxes of tissues are on hand to help them get through.
