USC aims to link US veterans with job openings
The unemployment rate for U.S. veterans has been dropping, but at about 10 percent, its still about two percentage points above the national average. USC hopes its upcoming hiring event will make a difference for local veterans looking for work.
The Serving Those Who Have Served event at USC on March 20 will offer veterans a chance to interview with employers for specific job openings that may match veterans skills.
For veterans who wish to email their resume in advance, the deadline is March 9.
Veterans and employers can also participate in educational workshops. USCs Center for Innovation and Research on Veterans & Military Families, part of the USC School of Social Work, will provide workshops on veterans training and experience and how to translate those experiences into a business setting.
The career event is a partnership among the School of Social Work, USCs Talent Management Department, the USC Office of Equity and Diversity and the U.S. Department of Labor.
Event details and registration are available through USC Talent Management online.
